Quint wins Dutch ITSMF Innovation Award 2007

31 October 2007

Company offers prize-winning combination of best sourcing governance practice and implementation approach

Quint Wellington Redwood, an independent management consultancy agency that specializes in solutions for IT-related organizational issues, has received the Dutch ITSMF Innovation Award 2007. Quint was awarded this prize for its combination of a best practice model for governance-related sourcing (Sourcing Governance Framework - Demand Supply Organization – SGF-DSO) and its unique approach to co-sourcing. This combination allows customers to quickly take control over the supply and demand related aspects of ICT service provisioning.

Quint Wellington Redwood = based their SGF-DSO concept on five years of experience in the design, set-up and implementation of demand supply organizations at dozens of national and international organizations. The concept comprises processes, competencies, templates and role definitions. Quint intends to market this solution in 2008 as an open-source solution.

There is an interesting tendency in the Netherlands regarding the set-up of internal demand supply organizations that serve as intermediary organizations between the supply and demand side of ICT service provisioning. Many organizations and government bodies have already outsourced their internal demand supply organization. The lack of professional commissionership, the pressure to implement changes on time and the lack of necessary competencies are often immediate reasons for organizations to outsource the professionalization and operational execution of intermediary governance – both the supply and demand related aspects – on the basis of a co-sourcing model. This comprises result-oriented outsourcing of the demand supply organization to Quint. For this purpose, Quint deploys part of the organization's internal staff; the objective being that the professionalized and fully crystallized demand supply organization is returned to the commissioning organization after a predefined period.

"Quint's motto is 'Dare to challenge'. A crucial requirement for innovation is to do business differently. This is why we are extremely pleased with the fact that the ITSMF community has awarded our vision, proven best practice and experience with the ITSMF Innovation Award. Implementing the Sourcing Governance Framework in a full-fledged demand supply organization on the basis of a co-sourcing approach can rapidly increase the level of professional commissionership of customer organizations," remarks Hendrik Wester, Country Manager Netherlands at Quint Wellington Redwood. "Besides value added by the best practice model and co-sourcing approach, the combination of both aspects provides the roles, processes, templates, ownership, staffing, education and experience necessary to take control of the ICT service provision process. To us as well as our customers, innovation is often practically synonymous with survival. This is why we will do the utmost to keep on doing justice to the trust that has been bestowed upon us through this award."

The ITSMF Innovation Award 2007 was awarded by Professor Emeritus Maarten Looijen.
