Achmea outsources part of ICT

Financial conglomerate Achmea will outsource part of its ICT-infrastructure services. This has been agreed upon by Achmea in strategic agreements with Atos Origin, Getronics PinkRoccade and KPN. In total approximately 170 Achmea employees will transfer to one of these companies. The three separate contracts, with a five year term, represent a total value of € 415 million.

“The outsourcing of ICT enables us to more quickly address the chancing demands from our customers. Outsourcing will also ensure the continuity, stability and reliability of Achmea’s business processes”, says Paul Piebinga, director of Achmea Group IT Services. “Achmea has the ambition to become the best, most customer focused and innovative financial service provider of the Netherlands. Focused use of ICT facilitates these strategic goals.”

The three ICT-service providers Atos Origin, Getronics PinkRoccade and KPN safeguard an optimal availability and security of the automated business processes of Achmea. In addition the ICT services are maximally standardised for the datacenter, end user computing and the networks.

The strategic outsourcing of ICT is a deepening of the existing cooperation between the parties. Achmea had sourced several parts of its ICT-organisation before to mentioned parties. This cooperation has led to significant cost reductions, higher efficiency and an increase of Achmea’s innovative capabilities. In addition the insurer is better able to comply with the strict rules in the area of financial reporting.

Atos Origin
Atos Origin will dedicate itself to datacenter services for Achmea. A lot of attention will go to the high demands for availability and continuity. A secured refuge will be offered from a remote distance. The agreement between Achmea and Atos Origin, with a five year term, represents a value of € 145 million.

Getronics PinkRoccade
Getronics PinkRoccade will take care of the management and further development of the end user infrastructure and the dilatation of business applications within Achmea. The company offers end user computing to the over 20.000 Achmea employees on each single location in the Netherlands. The agreement between Achmea and Getronics PinkRoccade, with a five year term, represents a value of €120 million.

KPN
KPN will be responsible for delivering all communication services for Achmea in the area of mobile communication and data networks. Security and callcenters are also a significant part of the contract. The agreement between Achmea and KPN, with a five year term, represents a value of € 150 million.
